Jungle Camps

There are three main types of camps in League of Legends; primary, secondary, and epic camps. Each of these camps serve a different purpose and should be properly prioritized throughout the game, as they will give your team the edge in either gold, experience, or a variety of buffs. A good understanding of the roles is crucial to learning how to master the role of jungling.

Primary

the blue buff camp

Primary camps consist of both buffs, Red and Blue. These camps are highly saught after by the junglers early, and laners later on. Red buff gives the player increased passive health regeneration, as well as gives their auto attacks additional true damage on hit and a slowing effect. This buff is great for the jungler early on to assist in their ganks, and is good on an ADC later on to allow them to kite a bit more. Blue buff gives the player 10% additional cooldown reduction, as well as massively increased mana or energy regeneration. This buff helps junglers clear camps faster early on and lets them spam their abilities. Later on, this buff is best when given to a mana dependent, carry champion to allow them to sustain through a constant onslaught of their ability usage.

Secondary

the krugs camp

Secondary camps consist of Gromp, Krugs, Wolves, Raptors, and Scuttlebug. These camps serve as gold deposits. There are no additional effects to these camps, aside from Scuttlebug, and their main role is to give large, concentrated amounts of gold and experience. Scuttlebug, however, does give a large benefit when slain. It gives the team who killed it vision in a circle around the outside of dragon or Baron pit, acting as an invulnerable ward which also gives a boost to movement speed when passed by.

Epic

the baron buff camp

Epic camps consist of the dragon, Rift Herald and Baron. When slain, these buffs give a massive buff to the team who killed it. These should be highly contested and only forfeited in dire situations. The buffs from dragon last all game, Rift Herald lasts 20 minutes, and Baron buff lasts 5. Each give unique types of benefits of varying power levels, giving game changing benefits that highly impact the overall game.
